Nature Festival:
The Wiggins Pass Nature Festival is an annual full day event offering opportunities for all ages to learn about the plants and wildlife of southwest Florida while participating in various programs. On-site experiential activities include a fishing clinic, shell seeking, a nature maze, sand sculpting and much more, all taking place in a beautiful shaded picnic area or on the pristine beach. Large collections of native materials such as shells, leaves, pine cones, and palm boots are available for creating jewelry, pictures, wall décor and other artistic pieces.
Educational exhibits include live animals indigenous to the area and information about them. Additional exhibits demonstrate the importance of recycling, water management, and conservation. Information on other state parks and local environmental agencies will be available at the Nature Festival. Meet “Joe Wiggins,” the first homesteader in the area, who will share history and stories of life here in the late 1800’s.
A food vendor will be on site for lunch and snacks.
Enjoy a Royal Scoop Ice Cream treat, too – five flavors available. |
